BDI IS committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of all people and business entities that engage with BDI. This Privacy Notice sets out the basis on which the personal data collected from any person or firm, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us in connection with any of our business and operations processes and activities.

For the purpose of the GDPR, CCPA and CPRA, the Data Controller is BDI.

BDI uses various software products of third parties (Service Providers) in connection with various business operations and activities. Certain activities and operations may use certain personal data only in connection with the specific instructions of BDI. BDI does not sell or license any personal data in any way. 

Where you engage with BDI where such personal data is required, these Privacy Notice provisions will apply to any processing of your personal information by BDI- in addition to this Privacy Notice which is also available at www.bdiexpress.com. 

Personal Information is information the BDI may collect from you which may include:

Information that you provide when you apply for access to our ecommerce or solutions portals including but not limited to www.bdiexpress.com, www.productivitypipeline.com, www.productivtypipeline.com, employee applications, credit information and other such processes of BDI. This includes information provided through sales inquiries, purchasing activities, online applications or registrations, certain specific email correspondence or in person at interviews and/or by any other method. 

  •  We process personal details such as name, email address, address, date of birth, qualifications, experience and any information relating to your business activities and capabilities, employment history, skills and experience that you provide to us. 
  •  If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence. 
  •  Details of your visits to our ecommerce, solutions or careers websites including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data and other communication data, the site that referred you to our websites and the resources that you access. 
Information we collect from other sources

BDI may link to data that you provide to us with other publicly available information about you that you have published on the Internet – this may include sources such as LinkedIn and other social media profiles. 

The technologies of BDI and our service partners enable us to search various databases, which may include your personal data, to find credit information, company information and personal information on possible candidates to fill our job openings or with whom to do business. Where we find you in this way we may obtain your personal data from these sources.

Lawful basis for processing

We rely on legitimate interest as the lawful basis on which we collect and use your personal data. Our legitimate interests are the sale of our products, services to our customers, purchases from our suppliers, communications in connection with our business and the recruitment of products, services and staff for our business. 

Purposes of processing

We use information held about you in the following ways:

  • To sell products and to purchase products and to communicate with you in the ordinary course of business.
  • To consider your application or solicitation to do business, register for ecommerce or in respect of an employment or contracted role for which you have applied. 
  •  To consider your application in respect of other business activities and roles. 
  •  To communicate with you in respect of these processes. 
  •  To enhance any information that we receive from you with information obtained from our Service Providers or from third party data providers. 
  •  To find people and firms with whom to do business and to find appropriate candidates to fill our job openings. 
  •  To help BDI improve our services and operations, and our service partners to improve their services. 
Automated decision making / profiling.

We may leverage the technologies of BDI, our service partners and other third-party providers, to help us select appropriate people and firms with whom to do business and candidates for us to consider contracting with for services or to employ based on criteria we have identified. To process of finding such suitable candidates is automatic; provided, however, any decision as to who we engage with to do business with or to fill a service or job opening will be made by our team. 

How we store your personal data
Security

We take appropriate measures to ensure that all personal data is kept secure, including security measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in any unauthorized way. We limit access to your personal data to those who have a genuine business need to view it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorized manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. 

 We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
 
  Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. We will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted through any online means; therefore, any transmission remains at your own risk.

Where we store your personal data

The data that we collect from you and process using the services and systems of our Service Partners will be transferred to and stored at one of several datacenter locations in various locations around the world and may be synchronized to one of several datacenter locations in other locations for backup and redundancy purposes. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. 

How long we keep your personal data

We retain information for the time necessary to complete the business task for which the information was collected. In the case of employee applications, all candidate data will be retained for a period of forty-eight (48) months from the time of application. Your personal information will be deleted on one of the following occurrences:

  •  Deletion of your personal information by you via the appropriate tool on the system of BDI or our services providers, or
  •  Receipt of a written request by you to us. 
Your rights

Under the GDPR, CCPA, CPRA and other legislative and regulatory provisions, you have several important rights. In summary, those include rights to: 

  •  access to your personal data and to certain other supplementary information that this Privacy Notice is already designed to address 
  •  require us to correct any mistakes in your information which we hold 
  •  request the erasure of personal data concerning you in certain situations 
  •  request access to the personal data concerning you which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations 
  •  object at any time to processing of personal data concerning you for direct marketing 
  •  object to decisions being taken by automated means which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you 
  •  object in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal data 
  •  otherwise restrict our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances 
  •  claim compensation for damages caused by our breach of any data protection laws in accordance with such laws. 
  • opt out of data sharing or cease from using the services

The GDPR, CCPA, CPRA and other legislative and regulatory provisions gives you right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the European Union (or European Economic Area), California and other states where you may work, normally live or where any alleged infringement of data protection laws occurred.
